Exactly What Are These Apparently Wonderful Online Entities Known As Blogs? A Blog Doesn't Actually Sound That Lovely!

Blog - in my understanding is an anagrammatic abbreviation of Web Log. Blogs can range between simple diary-like entries to regular or semi regular postings of related or dissimilar subject matter.

Please note, my approach for this post is for a guy much like myself.

An internet user flooded by Blog this, Blog this and don't do that do THIS etc etc. While really, what I have been trying to ascertain is really simple.

Exactly what is a Blog? Is there distinctive word count, norm or location for these apparently wonderful online entities? Can anyone do it and should they bother? What do they cost you and how do you get paid from them?

Still, to tell you the fact, I am not at all sure. Thought I would let you know that you are not alone!

While I am clearly learning, I be sure to take time to question if I am learning what I need to be learning.

As an aside, I really should apologise right now if you came here for any definite answers, I am only competent to ask at this stage. Nevertheless, sometimes understanding the questions to seek can give rise to decisions and, dare I say it, answers. I do not think that it could always be said that I am well defined in my communications. I do, all the same, like to be thought of as a person able to encourage contemplative thought in those reading my tidbits.

A frequent theme in the Blogging pantheon must be noted. Wordpress. Wordpress blogs are not difficult to setup. Wordpress itself provides the ability to operate a Wordpress Blog fully hosted, whereby you have the ability to customise the site and not surprisingly, support. Always useful in moments of crisis that is!

You can host them yourself, as all worthwhile hosting services allow you to install the script with ease. Within my experience the setup and management was relatively easy, though cannot say with any guarantee that my approach was entirely correct. I cheated here though. I found some extremely good instructional videos outlining the essentials very effectively indeed! Once again, I should apologise. I have not remembered from whence they came!
